Learn about the history and customs of the Day of the Dead, celebrated in Central and South America and the United States. Help to create a memorial ofrenda, or altar, in the Silas Wright House. Families can make the traditional decorative paper, papel picado, to add to the altar, and create a sugar skull, or calaveritas, to take home. Children can also get their face painted with Halloween or Dia de los Muertos imagery for a small additional fee. Loteria (a Mexican board game similar to bingo) will be available to play. Participants are encouraged to bring a small photograph of a loved one they wish to commemorate to add to the Silas Wright altar.

Activities led by Alondra Maldonado Espinosa and Megan Royce.
