Two books on Star Lake region in SLCHA shop
CANTON – Two books on the Star Lake region of southern St Lawrence County have arrived in the St Lawrence County Historical Association gift shop. The gift shop is in the Red Barn of the Silas Wright House. Parking is available in back, near the Red Barn entrance.

Star Lake: An Adirondack Community in the
Fifties and Sixties, by former Star Lake resident Russell J Hall,
focuses on the author’s recollections of the community and area in the
1950s and early '60s. ($16.95)
Gem of the Adirondacks: Star Lake, Benson
Mines & the Global Economy, by the same author, describes the boom – and
bust – days of the mines. ($15.95)

Also in the gift shop are Star Lake,
a book of historic photos collected by Shawn R Bauerschmidt, and Cranberry
Lake and Wanakena, a book of historic postcards collected by Susan
Thomas Smeby. ($19.99 each)

The CD sells for $17.95.

gift shop. Dancing Lady paper dolls are $4.95; Thaumatrope Circus characters
