Have you ever wanted to learn more about your ancestors? Are you just curious about genealogy in general? St Lawrence County Historical Association is pleased to announce a series of genealogy workshops for beginners to be held this spring.
On four consecutive Saturdays – March 30, and April 6, 13, and 20 – from 10 am to noon, members of the St Lawrence County Historical Association and the St Lawrence Valley Genealogical Society, who are experienced genealogical researchers, will present information covering all the basics to allow you to trace your family history.
The session on March 30th will cover general genealogy basics, charts and forms, and organizing your family tree; the April 6th session will cover vital records, census records, and newspaper resources; the April 13th session will cover probate records, property records, and other useful categories such as cemetery and military records; and the April 20th session will cover the use of internet resources to research and complete a family tree. All workshops will be held at the Historical Association, 3 East Main Street, Canton.
